Bill and Hillary Clinton announced they would not comply with a subpoena demanding congressional testimony about their relationships to the disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, while launching an extraordinary attack on Republicans and Donald Trump.

Bill Clinton’s subpoena commanded him to appear for testimony by Tuesday, and Hillary Clinton by Wednesday. After the former president did not show up, Comer told reporters at the Capitol that he would move to hold him in contempt next week.

“I think it’s important to note that this subpoena was voted on in a bipartisan manner by this committee. This wasn’t something that I just issued as chairman of the committee,” Comer said.

“No one’s accusing Bill Clinton of anything, any wrongdoing. We just have questions, and that’s why the Democrats voted along with Republicans to subpoena Bill Clinton.”

Clinton was known to be friendly with Epstein in the late 1990s and early 2000s, before the financier pleaded guilty in 2008 to state charges of solicitation of prostitution and solicitation of prostitution with a minor in Florida.

I want to agree, but at the same time this admin is going to be desperate for any reason to hang literally anyone out to dry.

Both things can be true. Clinton is guilty as hell AND Trump wants another diversion. I guess Greenland isn't enough.

Oh, sure. They are not implied nor exclusive.

I'm just thinking in a world where he didn't do anything wrong in this particular instance, I still buy him not wanting to be railroaded by complete morons.

Jim Jordan set a bad precedent to a avoiding Congressional subpoenas. At the very least these assholes should get a night in a jail cell like all us Poors.

Greetings, fellow piece of 💩. I too, stink something horrid, but thankfully I can’t smell it.

While I want the committees to investigate all of the folks associated with Epstein, I understand it’s also quite unprecedented to subpoena a former president, especially considering Trump himself has refused subpoenas I believe. Maybe let’s not start with a former president of the minority party and actually release all the files?

Not trying to defend the Clinton’s, I can’t believe they were ignorant of what Epstein was doing…

But this batch of politicians in congress and the senate are particularly very weird.

It makes me throw up in my mouth a little that these two are still held in such high regard in this country, despite Epstein, NAFTA, DADT, cutting the social safety net for the poor, and starting the rebrand of US warmongering so they could claim they never took the US to war.

Hillary's stupid, corrupt, and egocentric control of the DNC took a Sanders presidency away from us and made sure the US government is fully-controlled by her billionaire golf buddies.

The only good we got out of Hillary was her vocal advocacy for universal health care, and the bitch caved because people said mean things about her in public. And in Bill's first term, he had the power to make universal health care a reality. (He took office with full congressional control.)
