It's not yet perfect but it's a huge improvement for firefox. Firefox' ui development stalled for years.

There are even tabs now. It's not amazing but it is something.

Huh? What are you talking about?

Fennec is/was the codename for firefox on android

[–] als@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It's had tabs for years though?

[–] illusionist@lemmy.zip -1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

On tablet but on mobile I haven't seen it so far. Moreover, it's about the rest, not tabs in particular

[–] cepelinas@sopuli.xyz 2 points 1 week ago

Is your phone on fucking android 3 I have had firefox tabs on my phones for at least 4 years.

Fennec is also the name of a privacy focused Firefox Mobile fork available on F-Droid, which is what I thought you were referring to.

[–] illusionist@lemmy.zip -1 points 1 week ago

It is roughly the same

[–] Lemmchen@feddit.org 6 points 1 week ago

That's not an explanation for this post. Firefox had tabs for years, even on mobile and you posted a random ass GNU picture. ???

[–] 17lifers@sopuli.xyz 10 points 1 week ago

always existed

[–] edb_fyr@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Are you mixing it up with Firefox Focus? Because that one is very minimal in features and ui by design. The normal Firefox for Android has had tabs, extensions and otherwise been a fully usable mobile browser for years

[–] illusionist@lemmy.zip 0 points 1 week ago

There's an ui improvement. Tabs aren't the main focus here. And afaik tabs were only a thing on tablets, not phones

What are you talking about?

Maybe OP is talking about the (maybe new?) explicit tab bar on Firefox for Android? I like it at least.

Sceenshot of firefox for android showing an explicit tab bar above the address bar

Yes, and the other new UI stuff that can be seen in my screenshot. Yours looks to be the old one. E.g. the home button is finally gone.
