A few months back, I visited Harper's Ferry and did all of the usual historical things. Some of my photos from there made it onto here, when I did something with them I found technically interesting.
While I was there I couldn't not visit the "Needful Things Emporium," on route 51 in Charles Town, WV. Many silly things were therein, which I took a bunch of photos of and I shan't bore you with here.
I could not resist, however, buying this duck.
It's been sitting on my shelf with my various other birds for some months now, long enough for me to conclude by now with 98, maybe 99% certainty that it's not cursed. What a rip-off.
Anyway, I recently pressed him into service as a focus stacking demonstration subject attached to this post here. That engendered the creation of this:
