Though i must admit that as a german the irony that we former villains are now increasingly considered potential saviors of the liberal democracy is greatly amusing to me. ~~And pretty scary in light of our current political tendencies~~

I have to say it says third but it still seems about 50mil us and russia is supposedly twice that so I don't see how this makes them third. Honestly india, taiwan, japan, and south korea if they would form a mutual asia defence pact would be about on par with china. maybe they could even convince australia to be a part of it or make it a pacific form of nato and rope in canada.
