Must not be primarily character driven like Mad Men and The Wire, and must not have supernatural elements as in Twin Peaks. I really like Mindhunter. Looking for similar recommendations if possible. Thanks

We also enjoyed season 1 of Poker Face, which is a giant love letter to Columbo.

Have you tried Hannibal? Although it follows two characters primarily, I consider it more psychological crime drama than character driven.

The first season of True Detective is an absolute masterpiece.

I thought Des was pretty good. It has a bit of a mindhunter feel to it. You may be able to get some good recommendations over on television@lemmy.world

Nice! You might like Blackbird too. Another really good show with a similar feel to it.

@kuontom Criminal Minds, Bones and The Blacklist are some of my favourites

Watched a few episodes of Criminal Minds and The Blacklist. They're great for sure, but they are episodic. I'm in the mood for a serialized show.

Will check out Bones tonight.

@kuontom

Ag sorry, I got serialised and episodic mixed up. Maybe Breaking Bad?

NCIS follows your request for several seasons before starting to run dry on serialized plot and leaning on character-driven subplots for a while. Then it eventually recovers after a couple more seasons and gets back on its feet.

Heads up, can be a hard watch though.
