For photos of beautiful, still-inhabited locales! It can be a quick snapshot of your local town, a breathtaking pro photo of a city, or a pic of some fascinating piece of modern life.

The only real rule is that it must be an actively inhabited/used location (ie not ruins or natural locales). Otherwise, go wild. Anything that you find beautiful or interesting!

Please stop lying. This is not in the south of France. This is near Belgrade.

Source: this is a famous view, you can find a similar framing on the website of the Rakovica municipality

Haha ok that would be why I can't remember! Somehow that got mixed in with my holiday pics. I've never been to Serbia.

Everywhere south of Paris is "the south of France" to me! 🤡

[–] TriangleSpecialist@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

Ah no, you've clearly got that wrong. The real definition is: anywhere north of Avignon is the north of France/Paris.

Or so I was told by people in Marseille.

The south of France is also not near the alps…

Except it is. The South East at least. Nice is near the alps for instance. I would say that Nice is in the south of France. I mean, the departments are literally called "Alpes Maritimes" and "Alpes de Haute-Provence" in the southern parts of the Alps. There is more to the Alps than the ski stations and Chamonix.
