There could be a Cybertruck and the caption "government contract" as a third quote.

‘Taxes are theft’ means ‘I can’t see where my taxes are going’ because they’re being siphoned by the billionaire class.

The solution is not to eliminate taxes (because that’s fighting a symptom) but to eliminate the billionaire class (which is the problem).

e: and you can do that with taxes.

Did not. Was union busting via novel methods. Used anything as an excuse to hide that fact.

Yes but he was adamant that workers should be able to afford the commodities they produce

Math says that is not possible for an entire social product, if the goal is to also have a profit. We can of course enter the next charlatan suggesting personal debt or low wage labor export. yadayadayada

That doesn't change the fact that he did advocate for it. I never said that it was possible for that to be true under capitalism, especially in the longterm

Yeah, but too few people draw a sound conclusion from his statement.

You forget the welfare payments when their business goes bust

Socialism is there to prop up failed capitalists time and time again, like an abused spouse.

It’s easy! They create these seemingly harmless micro-credit (yeah, let’s call it that) loans so that we can afford them! No chance that folks will get caught up in the cycle of them needing to borrow money to cover their multiple micro-credit weekly payments! But don’t worry, your mobile payment app also happens to offer a “borrow” feature, that is definitely not effectively the same thing as a payday loan, that helps to pay for the micro-credit loans that you took out to cover the grocery bill. Fees for the loan, and fees for borrowing the money to pay for the loan.

I, with my terrible impulse control, absolutely did not get caught up in that cycle. I’m not currently about half way through paying it all back. I do not want to know how much money I’ve ended up spending in fees. Hopefully I learned a lesson? I’ve always been bad with money, so probably not.
