> Amnesty International called on governments to deny port access to a German-owned cargo vessel carrying military components destined for "Israel".

Erika Guevara Rosas, Amnesty International’s senior director for research, advocacy, policy, and campaigns, warned that the shipment "would contribute to the commission of genocide and other crimes under international law against Palestinians."

The organization said the Portuguese-flagged Holger G, en route to Haifa, is transporting roughly 440 tons of mortar bomb components, projectiles, and military-grade steel linked to major Israeli arms manufacturers, including Elbit Systems and its subsidiary IMI Systems.

Amnesty argued that allowing the cargo to proceed risks legal complicity and could violate the Geneva Conventions and the Arms Trade Treaty, as well as guidance issued by the International Court of Justice in July 2024.
