Where we meme (joking in tone and detail, serious in sentiment) about General Sherman, the Civil War, and how the secesh traitors had it coming.

RULES

  1. No bigotry. The Union, or at least the part of the Union WE support, fought AGAINST that shite. We are anti-racist, anti-sexist, anti-homophobic, anti-transphobic, and in general anti-bigot here, even if not all the lads in Union blue uniforms were.

  2. No Confederate sympathizing. Anti-democratic racist slaver traitors don't deserve shit.

  3. Follow all Piefed.social rules

Explanation: For those of you lucky enough to not be aware of US political squabbling, it has been a recurring issue these past few decades over whether statues of 'heroes' of the Confederacy, the attempted slaver secession of the US Civil War, should be torn down. Many of those statues were, in the first place, erected in response to the Civil Rights Movement in an attempt to intimidate Black Americans.

The excuse given by many is that tearing down such statues is 'destroying history' and 'erasing the past'. As if keeping propaganda pieces up in public spaces is necessary to remember historical events.

Maybe they've got a point. We didn't put up statues honoring the Nazis after WWII, and lots of Americans forgot that they were the bad guys.

(/j, if it wasn't clear)

In the name of remembering history, I DEMAND more statues of Nazi officials depicting them on October 16th, 1946

it's so sad....

that they didn't kill all the nazis then, and some got away, including the brass balled Mengele

One Nazi's last words were literally "make Germany great again" ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

And when they speak of heritage, just grab an example from the comments section of this vid: https://youtube.com/watch?v=-ZB2ftCl2Vk

Most of my clothes have lasted longer than the Confederacy.
