Fast travel can be useful if a game is really fucking big. But there is something to be said for just wandering the countryside an explorin around

So you have to travel to the nearest town and ride in a giant bug to get relatively close to where you want to go.

Witcher 3 did a really good job of making it easy to play continuously. The main story would take you all across the map and just following that path, then hitting all the side quests along the way would let you play 90% of the game without fast travel.

My issue with game that have a beautiful landscape or city to explore is the devs constantly like to bombard you with random nonsense to do. They're so worried you might be bored just walking around, nah just leave me alone I'm just out here vibing.
