General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both !uk_politics@feddit.uk and !unitedkingdom@feddit.uk .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

So what was the point of that little performance then?

Either she should have stood her ground and not resigned (my view) or she should be persona non grata. Coming back after a few months is rather pathetic.

Basically, the government didn't think she did anything wrong but they had to show they were playing by the same rules that govern everyone else. They're clearly devoid of anyone else that can do her role that they're sounding out her return after a matter of weeks. They expect the public to have forgotten this so they can move back to their agenda of delivering on the manifesto they were elected on.

Really tells you what sort of opinion they have of the public, doesn't it.

Given how much of public opinion is created by the media.

It's "almost" understandable that politicians. Assume the public's opinions has changed once the media forgets an issue.

I guess it's punishment and redemption. The idea of "doing time" and then going back to your life is strong in British culture.
