I discovered this late in life (only like 15 years ago about). I can't decide if that was a great thing or a bad one. On one hand it's incredible hearing a masterpiece randomly and not even knowing it, especially when you think you have heard most of the iconic stuff already. On the other I missed out on like 20 years of not knowing this existed. I knew a lot about the band and the members, but for some reason this album just never made it to my ears for some reason. I was blown away the first time I heard it.

➤ Simple Guidelines
➧1. Include the original album name, author and year of release. If you do not know some of the required information, state that in either the title or top-level comment e.g. [Author/s - Album Name (Unknown Year)]. The reason we ask for this information is that you can only search on the content of post titles, not comments.
➧2. No low-effort/low-quality posts. Posts made to c/albumartporn are expected to be of high quality and have serious effort put behind them. The album cover should be clean, not have any urls/website watermarks in them.
➧3. Be Original
➧4. Be respectful. Harassment, abuse, name calling, and/or threats of any kind is not tolerated here. Any content, whether an image or a comment, that includes any kind of bigoted language or hate speech will be met with a permanent ban.
➧5. No off-topic Content Never post anything that is off-topic (i.e. not album art) or that contains gory material.
➧6. No spam or reposts. Do not submit more than one of the same post/comment on this community or across multiple communities. In addition, please wait at least 3 months before reposting an image that has already been posted to c/albumartporn, and do not repost from the top of all time.
➧7. No advertisement or self-promotion. Do not use this community to advertise or self-promote. This includes (but is not limited to) websites, articles, blog posts, and brands.
➧8. No memes, gifs, videos, audios. Just album covers
➧9. Tag NSFW Posts · Nudity: Obvious, implied or strategically covered · Content that is “sexually explicit”. Gore, both human and non-human is not allowed. No spam.
➧10. Keeping Fresh & Diverse · To ensure genre variety, each user may only post one submission per music genre every 72 hours (excluding sub-genres).
➠Feel free to report any content that does not respect these rules.

There is an apocryphal story that the guitarist Eddie Hazel was told to play the first half of like he just got news his mother had died, and then the second half like he got news that she was still alive.
Overall just an incredible display of musical talent. Paul McCartney may have made his guitar weep, but Eddie Hazel made his scream in rage and agony and fear.
I'm addition to being album art porn, it's also just one of the best songs ever.
Let's see if I can get it from memory, not looking it up:
Mother Earth is pregnant for the third time,
for y'all have knocked her up.
I have seen the maggots in the mind of the universe,
but I knew I had to rise above it all
or drown in my own shit.
If you enjoy this album, you might enjoy John frusciante's " the empyrean as it's highly influenced by this album.
P funk is the pinnacle result of an acid trip. Amazing album and the cover is so epic
