I get past a few posts in all and then it’s just him posting in political communities.

Half of his stuff is downvoted

How do I stop seeing this? Is there way for blocking particular user to not see their posts?

From what I've gathered from others who've been bothered by them, they are a 'tankie' who fantasises about communism and thinks China is still a communist state. That they do so while living in a western democracy using all the tools of freedom of expression is an irony that's lost on them

they also twist themselves into knots defending Russia’s illegal invasion of Ukraine. Any attempt to engage in discussion with them is met with literally every logical fallacy in the book, along with insults, bullying, and dogpiling from other tankies that seemingly (and suspiciously) appear out of nowhere.

they’re extremely toxic.

My most upvoted comment on Lemmy so far is calling him one lol. I think it’s just that it feels like an anti-West “propaganda” account more so than an actual person and normally do not actually provide thoughtful unbiased looks into things without using whataboutism.

i'm glad there are some people willing to be anti-anti-NATO 🤔 brave of you

I wouldn't even call them communist, they just post pro-China propaganda. They're furthering the agenda of a specific government, not an economic ideal.

I just blocked them soon after joining so I don't have to see the braindead posts/comments they keep submitting.

How come Yogthos is all over my Hot page with months-old posts though? Is tankie-ism the secret to blazing hot posts months in the future?

maybe post better

He's actually a nice enough guy, but he has a rose-colored glasses when it comes to China and the CPC. As someone who worked at China Daily, I assumed he works for state media! He said he doesn't but he hoped to go to China someday.

Given how often he posts, I'm a little concerned about his mental health, but maybe this is what keeps him sane. Better than shooting people in a mall, that's for sure!

I'd actually like to meet the guy and have a cup of coffee

not if their comment history is anything to go by— insulting, hostile, and combative comments, many of which are heavily-downvoted (except on lemmgrad.ml, which is an echo-chamber for tankies).
