I did not like the eating eggs scene.

I know it was supposed to be comedic relief, but if a human woman froze her eggs and some guy let his pet eat them it would be devastating.

I just could not get my head out of thinking of that.

It's simple, you see, people that look different from you don't deserve empathy.

  • A shocking amount of sci-fi

Now think of this way. Humans and chickens are different species and for the most part, its considered pretty normal for people to eat chicken eggs. Hell eggs are one of the most nutrient dense foods on the planet and nearly every animal will eat an egg if given the opportunity.

Baby yoda is a different species than that frog so in a sense it really isn't that different than a human eating a chicken egg, although it is a little more intrusive given the circumstances.

That species was presented as FAR more intelligent than chickens. We also do not (usually) eat fertilized chicken eggs. It's still highly fucked up to eat that animal's eggs. The fact they tried it as comic relief is still indicative of people with absolutely zero empathy, and that's worrying to see from a company so devoted to kid's content.

The fact someone didn't cringe at that is also worrying. Everyone who didn't needs to work on their sympathy for fuck's sake.

Right, cause some baby creature is considering the intelligence of something before going for a snack.

It's not a comment about baby yoda. This entire thread is a metacomment on why they wrote it as a comedic scene.

Dark humor is supposed to be about laughing at dark occurrences. Not creating them and going 'lol'. That's just evil.

There is plenty of dark humor jokes out there that have to set up the occurance first. Overall i think you are reading into the evil of this a bit too much.

Baby yoda had been a curious and hungry creature from the very start, often snacking on whatever it could gets its hands on. Eggs are generally seen as nutrious and tasty. Baby yoda, being a baby, has no concepts of the ideas of property ownership, maternity, or even that an egg makes life. I think its very reasonable and realistic that the creature would try snacking on it.

Again, I understand why it doesn't make baby yoda evil. Though someone setting up the scenario and laughing at it, is.

This is from the show The Mandalorian. IIRC, Mando is transporting this reptilian female alien and her unfertilized eggs back to her husband so he can fertilize them and continue their family line.

The "weird green dog" refers to Baby Yoda (Grogu), who shows intelligence similar to a human toddler and eats several of the eggs throughout the episode.

This is played for laughs in the episode despite being pretty fucked up when you think about it.
