Taking acetaminophen during pregnancy is not clearly linked to autism or attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children, a new review finds.

The topic has been in the headlines since September when Donald Trump warned that acetaminophen use in pregnancy was "associated with a very increased risk of autism" and the president advised pregnant women, "Don't take Tylenol."

At the time, federal officials cited an August 2025 meta-analysis from researchers at Mt. Sinai, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Heath, UCLA Fielding School of Public Health and UMass Lowell that found prenatal exposure to acetaminophen may be associated with an increase in rates of neurodevelopmental disorders, including autism and ADHD, in children.

Can we just please say what really happened? Some weirdo just mad the entire thing up, either for shits and giggles, being an attention whore, or to blackmail whoever now has the patent for it and they didn't wanted to pay the Cheeto the welcome package payment.

Either way, it was pulled out of some ass,can we please just put it back there? Saying "well there isn't a clear link" is technically correct in the way that "my pig hasn't conclusively been seen flying" is technically correct too.

It was done because financiers of the Trump administration were attempting to buy the manufacturer of Tylenol and they arranged a method to tank the sale price.

Source on that? I'll believe you but I'd be nice to have a good source to read up on it

I don’t have avalid source for that. It is 100% conspiratorial thinking. it is the only thing that makes sense though.

Not “not clearly”. It is not. Just as there is no such statistical inference known as “almost significant”.

No no… they said Tylenol specifically. You can’t just test generic acetaminophen!
