“I’ll tell you right, as God as my witness, if we lose the midterms and we lose 2028, some in this room are going to prison,” Bannon told the crowd Wednesday at an awards event hosted by the Conservative Partnership Academy. This group offers training and certifications to aspiring right-wing ideologues working in politics and government.

“They’re not gonna stop,” Bannon said of Democrats and progressives aligned against Trump’s authoritarian push and Republican economic policies that have focused on lavishing ever-larger tax cuts for corporations and the rich while gutting government programs, including cuts to Medicaid, food assistance for the poor, devastating environmental policies, and dismantling of healthcare subsidies leading to a surge in monthly premiums for millions of families.

It’s worth pointing out that he’s not saying they are doing things wrong that are deserving of prison. Rather that Democrats are so radical they will send innocent republicans to prison.

Much the same way Trump is actively doing now with ICE and other DOJ decisions.

.... or even worse than that, suggesting that what they are doing is not wrong but that they would be punished for their actions if someone else came into power that didn't support them.

He's also definitely trying to muddy the waters and make it seem like any prosecutions of the crimes committed during this administration are inherently political. Gotta get the messaging out early.

Also, if republicans do anything that seems like an insurrection, it is in defense of tyranny, not the other way around.

You mean like storming the Capitol in 2021?

[–] danc4498@lemmy.world 1 points 4 months ago

Or sending national guard into cities to “monitor” elections.

[–] shnizmuffin@lemmy.inbutts.lol 8 points 4 months ago (3 children)

I'm okay with sending innocent Republicans to prison.

[–] osaerisxero@kbin.melroy.org 10 points 4 months ago

Name 3 innocent Republicans

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 4 points 4 months ago

If you can find any.

[–] danc4498@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago

Noooo! There’s enough guilty republicans already.

[–] Rhaedas@fedia.io 6 points 4 months ago

Well, yeah, when you don't have a moral compass there isn't a right or wrong, only how people act against you when you do something to them.

[–] fibojoly@sh.itjust.works 4 points 4 months ago

Did I hear "Projection!" ? Because that sure sounds like their usual behaviour.

Prison is too good for this trash.

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 7 points 4 months ago

Yup. Let's Nuremberg this freak and move on.

I have no faith that dems would jail these people, even if they should.

As usual, I only wish the Dems had the teeth that maga says they do.

STOP BREAKING THE LAW, ASSHOLE!

[–] Endymion_Mallorn@kbin.melroy.org 14 points 4 months ago

For once, I hope he's right. They deserve to go to prisons - like Alligator Alcatraz.

No dawg, we're gonna fucking lynch all of you geriatric pedos.

We don't need democrats to help. Just to ignore it, which they seem pretty good at doing

[–] Triumph@fedia.io 3 points 4 months ago

Wise words, DrFistington.

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth 2 points 4 months ago

They only ignore it when it's the other side.

[–] Wilco@lemmy.zip 9 points 4 months ago

Well, he isn't wrong.

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 8 points 4 months ago

Fascist says what?

[–] D_C@sh.itjust.works 1 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

Nope.
Biden had the time and different ways to take Donvict Drumpf down, (the Epstein list. Jan insurrection stuff. Stealing of top secret documents, to name the most blatant and obvious. However there was also the COVID-19 corruption stuff etc etc), yet did pretty much fuck all.
Christ, if nothing else he could've had the orange rapist arrested on Jan 7th but didn't.

So, no. None of these evil and corrupt fuckers will see a day in prison.
But I'm open to being proven wrong. I want to be proven wrong!!
