I've got a pixel 8 with the bottom right corner missing some glass. I was wondering if I could pour in some super glue or epoxy or something without ruining anything... I forgot that mirrors exist but you get the point from my drawing hopefully lol

Biggest thing is it’s not going to be optically clear. So if the area is still visible then you’re losing that area. Also it’s probably going to fuck with the digitizer and it’s going to think you’re permanently touching that area.

I’d just buy some el cheapo screen protector and put that over it.

It's the back of the phone, based on the picture.

Good point. Do they still make rear glass protectors?

But if it’s the rear then fuck it. As long as it doesn’t soak deep into the phone. Maybe do one drop at a time.

An epoxy might work to keep any more glass from cracking, but I am doubtful. If you can somehow make a mold or something to contain the epoxy while it sets, that might help. Sanding off the excess epoxy sounds tricky as well.

I guess in reality, any glue should work to help secure the rest of the glass for a little bit of time. Also in reality, the glass is already compromised so it's anyone's guess how long any fix would keep the damage from spreading. To simulate something like a windshield repair, you would need to forcefully inject the glue or expoxy into the damaged area to fill any developing cracks completely.

Any kind of fix still probably needs to get covered with a beefy phone case afterwards.

It's hard to say what a decent fix would be or how it might cause issues with future repairs without a hands-on look at the damage. The best option is to replace the back of the phone whenever that becomes possible. (I suspect any glues or epoxies would interfere with that.)

Special UV glue repair kit for cars from most online stores, read the instructions and use common sense. Will need your phone to remain in direct sunlight for a little while. But the end result will be way more optically clear than most other solutions, short of replacing the whole back (and most, if not all, crack lines will disappear).

Works great IMHO.
