Our legacy media has lost so much juice that this wasn't even a blip in the election. The last bit of power legacy media has requires united drumbeat coverage to work.

Adds "conservative" columnists, covers every detail of Biden's aged decrepitude in minute detail while ignoring Trump's mental deterioration, answers a Reddit AMA asking why all of that by saying basically that Trump is popular and Biden is unpopular and it's their obligation as a newspaper to reflect that reality in their coverage, then gets all surprised when Trump wins and it sucks.
I don't think NYT had anything to do with electing Trump, their cultural impact at this point is near 0 (along with the rest of the professional press which is its own sort of problem). But they don't get to whitewash their cheerleading now, by broadcasting one OTT headline and calling it good.
What's uncanny is how they hit the highlights so accurately. 100 other things they could have included, but those are tops.
