Next time. Just release a finish game at launch. It took them three years to add a cop system post-launch for god sakes.
Or if you can't, then at least don't promise all kinds of features that you obviously won't be able to implement. No one forced them to build up all that hype.
If by persistence they mean a gigantic media campaign then yeah, sure.
I'm just glad it got a redemption arc at all. I fell in love with the game at launch, despite the bugs and performance issues, and was sad to see people being unwilling to give it a shot.
I just hope CDPR remembers this lesson the next time. Just wait until it's actually done. Whatever projected losses you may foresee by delaying the game are nothing compared to the reputation that will haunt you by releasing it too early.
Does nobody remember the gaming website shitstorm and CDPR devs getting death threats if they didn't release the game on time? Internet basement dwellers were frothing at the mouth at the prospect of having to wait.
