We're so back (to the 1930s)

I'm 54 and wasn't aware of what measles really was until recently. Never pondered whooping cough either.

When my ex was pregnant with our first kid the nurses hammered us on vaccines and breast feeding, posters everywhere. We know, we're doing that. One day I got snippy with the nurse (who didn't deserve it):

"We're not r*******. Hit the kid with what ever ya got, on whatever appropriate schedule."

Stared at me a sec, looked at my wife nodding vigorously, back to me. What a dumb situation where nurses have to stump for vaccinations.

My current peeve is hearing "evidence based medicine" at every sort of medical intervention. "Yeah, that's called 'medicine'."
