Going broke only matters when those with more than enough start to lose something. The foundation of our society is built on the backs of the broke.

Noam Chomsky reiterated this time and time again throughout the decades of his still long life.
I came to terms that the wage slave class doesn't have time to read Chomsky (or anything else even) and is kept deliberately illiterate by the educational system and mass forms of media so they're not even able to understand such type of literature if they came upon it.
It's all an open prison without visible bars and chains.
Chomsky is not without rebuttal in some regards, but then again, nobody is. Especially even more recently, his avid sharpness declined a lot throughout this new century. But let us let the man rest, he's almost 100 years old now. And his body of work from his invaluable contribution to Linguistics and also Social and Political analysis is completely unmatched by anyone living today.
All this "blah blah blah" to say that I agree with you.
Hmmm... I just realised I'm even more insufferable than I think of myself to be. Which is not that little to begin with.
Age creeping in...
It's perhaps why there's a resistance to the people who tried/try to communicate these realizations and concepts to others, if they sound as insufferable as I sound... it's not gonna get much traction.
Maybe this Gary Stevenson guy now can deliver it better. He's definitely riding it on just the footnotes of others, and being accused of being simplistic and populist in the process. But if he manages to get these concepts across to the average worker and voter, he'll be more successful than academic speakers have been in a long time.
It's about whatever works in the end, I guess...
Chomsky is in the Epstein files
Yeah, it is known for quite a while that he had meetings with him, but I don't know the extention of his envolvement beyond that. And to be honest, I don't care. If he did something wrong, charge him and lock him up. I had the "kill my darlings" period a very long time ago. Everyone should worship nobody. Idols are for fools.
But if you think that anything can erase his contribution to Linguistics or that it invalidates his analytical skills of the political and social constructs, you are wrong.
Part of the pain of growing old is learning how to take the good with the bad and the bad with the good and know that they don't erase each other.
People often say to me that they "can't separate the art from the artist" as an assumption that I do. I don't. I just accept the complexity of human nature and that awful people can have brilliant ideas or incredible skill regardless of what their moral compass allows them to do or not. I can condemn their actions and praise their contributions equally.
Do you want me to list the many inventions and contributions that you and I benefit from everyday that came from absolutely heinous people? Because the list is so incredibly long.
This all to say that I don't know what that short remark of yours was for as a contribution? Did you think I was gonna defend the old man as a defense mechanism triggered because defending what I was stating is akin to defending his actions as a person? Nope.
Epstein didn't even need to be Epstein. The fact that Chomsky was so comfortable schmoozing with a billionaire is a huge hypocrisy on its own given his literary contributions. But even if it turns out Noam Chomsky was a pedophile, "Wage slavery" will still stand as a great deconstruction of exploitation under capitalism.
And speaking of capitalism, there's no ethical consumption under it. So we're all guilty by association. But that should not stop us from trying to do or be better. But some use that as a detracting point instead of a motivating one. And I'm even constantly mocked by the many boycotts that I take on as daily rituals for a very long time.
But knowledge is something I won't boycott.
I can tell you I love the syntropic method and syntropy as a whole. But Ernst Götsch, the biggest contributor to this field is someone I really dislike. Even so, I think every person in the world should read his work and learn Syntropy and take and improve on the syntropic method. Because it will truly be a better world if people do.
And I will also state this... I find the consumption of animal products and financement of the exploitation of sentient beings one of the worst atrocities that people participate in everyday. I have not taken part in this for two decades now. But I used to before. Is the time before absolved? No. And also, should I now disavow and invalidate the contributions of anyone that consumes animal products daily? Should I cast aside anyone that I meet or met for it?
Be careful of judgement without nuance. You won't like it when it's your turn on the scale. Take the good with the bad and don't let them erase each other. It's the only way to not lose one's mind in such a crooked world.

Robert Reich posted a video a month or so ago, positing that trump is purposely crashing everything so that he and his billionaire puppet masters will be able to take control of more stuff at a steep discount.

Oh damn. I just spent 30 minutes going through old Reich youtube content (It's where I see him 99% of the time) to try to dig it up. OK, I got sidetracked for a lot of that time. Anyway, I'm not finding it. It was a short posting. Sorry. If I stumble across it in the next couple days, I'll post it.
