Many foolish trees voted for the logging company because they promised to chop down the trees the foolish ones didn’t like. They believed the message from the logging company that the forest was unhealthy not because of unregulated logging, but because of the trees that looked a little different.

There is unrest in the forest
There is trouble with the trees
For the maples want more sunlight
And the oaks ignore their pleas

The trouble with the maples
And they're quite convinced they're right
They say the oaks are just too lofty
And they grab up all the light

But the oaks can't help their feelings

If they like the way they're made

And they wonder why the maples

Can't be happy in their shade

There is trouble in the forest
And the creatures all have fled
As the maples scream, “Oppression!”
And the oaks just shake their heads

[–] 0ops@piefed.zip 8 points 1 month ago (1 children)

And so the maples formed a union

And demanded equal rights

"The oaks are just too greedy,

We will make them give us light!"

"Now there's no more oak oppression

For they passed a noble law

And the trees are all kept equal

By hatchet, ax, and saw"

There was a really brown tree no one voted for because it wasn't that great of a tree. So instead the axe won which, if you think about it, was the only way to get the trees to finally get off their asses and do something. Though the forest is now gone...oops.

You'd have to be stupid to vote for a billionaire to begin with. But I think it's psychologically ingrained in humans to worship the wealthy and "successful" thinking it's all due to their hard work alone, never attributing the factor of luck. It is ironic to say that I'm lucky that I learned early in life that luck has as much of an importance as skills and hard work. It is not something that affected my ego as I learned later in life that many people feel offended if they are told luck has been a contributing factor.

"If hard work made you rich, all donkeys would be millionaires."

[–] PugJesus@piefed.social 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

First time I've heard this, I'm stealing it

[–] sturger@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 month ago

Steal it. I did.

[–] TheThrillOfTime@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 month ago

It's called propaganda. Nothing about this is a natural outcome. The rich and powerful have been propagandizing, murdering, stealing from regular people for decades if not longer.

Don't blame me, I voted for the wood-chipper.

[–] RampantParanoia2365@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Cool, but what's with the Avengers logo?

[–] morrowind@lemmy.ml 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

It's some anarchist symbol

[–] RampantParanoia2365@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago

Ah, of course, this screams organized anarchy. Like a punk rock show with inner tubes.
