It is possible, achievable and necessary for farm labor to change to be worker owned and all workers paid appropriate wages.

It is not possible, achievable, or necessary for animal agriculture to change to a system where animals are not tortured and killed.

Slavery is not inherent to food production and I oppose it wherever it appears.

Mass animal abuse and killing is inherent to animal agriculture, therefore I believe it should not exist at all.

It's funny that they'd think like that when the metaphor ”how the sausage is made” has been around forever.

Also, many more people are employed growing and harvesting the feed that those animals go through in their lifetimes than if people simply didn't eat meat.

Carnists are stupid

I think it's important to have hope and not just call people stupid. Most vegans today were once carnists too, people are often lying even to themselves.

that's such a weird thing to think. animals are basically made up of the same things as people, of course it's gonna be fucking traumatic to kill one

I really don't get carnists that think like that, and give those crazy arguments on why they are better, trying to shame vegans into eating meat.

Of course they don't like that study after study shows the benefits of reducing meat intake. Sad that their identity is locked into something like: meat, beer and sports.

Had to leave a discord server I was a regular in because two members always argued with me on this.

The basic arguments they each always had was:

  1. Anti-agriculture and animal liberation always leads to eco-fascism
  2. Meat industry workers do not know any better and do not understand that what theyre doing is bad
  3. Mass animal liberation would be too expensive and all the animals will die of starvation without human intervention.
  4. The big one was "if your political ideology would cause harm to humans then your ideology is fascist"

Both were hardcore Harris supporters who also blamed me for letting Trump win by voting third party. Go figure.
