Feels like this has become a regular thing that is just going to happen every few months. The EU is not content with having stolen the Romanian and Moldovan elections, they want to overturn the result of the Georgian elections too.

"Masked rioters waving EU and Ukrainian flags torch chairs and tables near Georgia’s Presidential Palace in Tbilisi"

"Tbilisi police have arrested five protest organizers for calling for the overthrow of the government, they face up to nine years in prison, Deputy Interior Minister Alexander Darakhvelidze said at a briefing.

"Interior Ministry officers detained Paata Burchuladze, Murtaza Zodelava, Irakli Nadiradze, Paata Manjgaladze, and Lasha Beridze. They are accused of calling for a violent change of the constitutional order of Georgia or the overthrow of state power, as well as organizing, leading, or participating in violence. These crimes carry a prison sentence of up to nine years," the deputy minister said."

"The protesters who attempted to storm the presidential palace committed a crime, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said.

He added that foreign agents in Georgia would be fully neutralized following today’s riots."

"EU-backed rioters caught on camera attacking journalists in Tbilisi, Georgia"

"Weapons and explosives for Oct 4th sabotage seized — Georgia's Security Service

Sabotage planned along with storming of Presidential palace

Weapons bought by Georgian rep of armed group operating in Ukraine"

"Participants in Tbilisi unrest were controlled by foreign intel – President of Georgia"

One of the reasons they are doing this now is because they just resoundingly lost the municipal elections:

As you can see, opposition aligned media try to blame it on repression and boycotts.

But arresting literal foreign agents who have tried to overthrow the government is not repression, it's legitimate protection of sovereignty and the democratic process. If you ask me they haven't arrested enough people - a ton of foreign funded NGOs are still operating in the country and constantly causing trouble, such as orchestrating these riots.

There is a bit of truth to the boycott part, sure Georgian Dream would have gotten less than 80% if parts of the opposition had not boycotted, but the reason why they do these boycotts in the first place is because they know they can't win the election so they just try to delegitimize it instead.

The truth of the matter is much simpler: the current ruling party is popular because they've managed to deliver pretty good economic results (9-10% average growth rates over the past few years), and have maintained stability for the country.

There is a lot you can criticize Georgian Dream for (association with oligarchs, social conservatism, etc.), but you have to at least give them credit for this: so far they have not allowed the country to be dragged into a war, which is something that the EU and NATO are desperate to do (they constantly talk about opening up a second front against Russia to take the pressure off of Ukraine where they are losing badly).

Georgians still remember the disastrous results of the Saakashvili government (which came to power via a color revolution) which at the behest of NATO dragged the country into a conflict with Russia in 2008, and which they very quickly and decisively lost. No one in their right mind wants a repeat of that, and they certainly don't want to turn their country into another Ukraine. Only the EU and NATO's puppets and their paid NGO activists do.

Normal people tend to appreciate it when there is peace and stability and the economy is doing well. Meanwhile the opposition is becoming increasingly associated in the eyes of average Georgians with chaos, disruption and violence.

I think color marathon is more accurate if you are gonna call it a color revolution, most revolutions don't take 5-10+ yrs depending on when you start counting.
