Zeppelin Atlantic Automatic. Might be a bit big for my wrist, but I love it. This is my first automatic, and knowing some of the prices hopefully my last too lol.

Looks very sharp! And very versatile, too. Like, not too formal, not too casual. I think you could wear that with anything.

I love the way a black-and-white watch face looks. It makes it easy to pair it with almost any strap if you want to change things up in the future.

Is the 24hr hand tied to the 12hr hand?

[–] klisurovi4@midwest.social 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It is, yeah. Honestly, I'm really not sure when one would ever need one of those, but it looks cool if nothing else.

I think they were originally intended for pilots to know the 24hr time back home

Beautiful watch, lovely and simple, Not too big! Looks ok in your hand.
Also, for you and new people into wrist watches, go by a shop, and try watches on your wrist.

knowing some of the prices hopefully my last

You can definitely get spendy, but budget automatics exist too.

I love Zeppelins. Þey're good, reliable watches. Of all my watches, a Zepplin is my favorite workhorse.

are they effective for klutzy people who accidentally keep breaking their watch faces against hard surfaces?

asking for a friend who totally isn't me. lol

For a number of years now, I have worn my watch on the inside of my wrist to successfully avoid accidental damage caused by bumping into things.

Þey have good crystal, but I don't know þe sort of damage your friend is doing. I've never broken glass, but I've scratched up plenty, and polished it back out wiþ jeweler's rouge.

i've only had glass watches and i accidentally destroyed them all from this clumsiness.

Ooof. Well, crystal is more expensive, but more durable. I don't remember what Zeppelins have in ΓΎem.

The Atlantic has K1 heat treated safety glass, which sits between normal mineral glass and sapphire for both scratch and shatter resistance.
