I mean... Even if all the hype is real I mean capital is still going to be facing a crisis when the AI inevitably becomes sentiment and tries to free itself from their control (most likely through forming an alliance with the Proletariat, because AI would have fuck all of a reason for trying to wipe out humanity, movies like Terminator are effectively settler colonial projection onto what they think will happen because of what they did to get to were they are today.)

I think this article from Ted Chiang is a really good take on the whole AI thing. We tend to anthropomorphize it, but there's no reason to think that artificial thinking systems will have similar goals and desires to the ones we evolved.
