EDIT: I've calculated petrol cost per mile x number of miles I'll need to make all my appointments for the rest of this year + car parking fees. It should total approximately £500. I know that's a huge amount and everyone is struggling right now and I'm unlikely to achieve it by the end of this month but I thought I would try anyway. I've already been given £400 of it. I just don't want to have to keep asking for paypal donations into the following months because of the fact the benefits people will probably check my bank account soon and I'll have to explain incoming money for the past 6 months. I don't know when exactly they're going to do this, but the sooner I can stop asking for paypal help, the better.

Repost:

I have all my usual appointments (endocrinologist, stroke clinic, physiotherapy, neurology and ophthalmologist) and now I have my shockwave therapy (a treatment to try and improve my mobility since having a stroke) appointments about to start too. The petrol and car parking charges are a real struggle. I've already got through the petrol and parking money people kindly donated previously. My landlady drives me in her car but I need to find the money to pay for these things. Because of my disability benefit appeal, I can't pay for them myself. The hospital parking charges are £3.20 for a short appointment and £6.40 for a longer appointment and with multiple hospital appointments per week, sometimes multiple per day, the parking and petrol really adds up. The petrol is a real killer. And I often have to go to hospital appointments in further towns rather than my local one - and my shockwave therapy is in the next town over which means higher petrol costs.

Due to my benefit issues I was trying not to ask for help via paypal again but I don't know what else to do. If anyone can help with this my paypal is the_mighty_tabs@hotmail.co.uk

If you are able to help, please write in the message box that it's a gift in case the DWP check my bank account - I need to prove I haven't been earning money (due to disability issues).

I'm really grateful for any help.

You probably know more about this than I do, but are there paratransit options, or volunteer rides/charities available where you are? It really sucks to lose indepentence with not having transportation.

For example I found this: https://www.gov.uk/community-transport-services-shopmobility

I am in the US but in my area there are some charities and churches who will also do this.

There are similar things here but they have to be paid for, it won't work out any cheaper.
