Welcome!

Can you imagine, years ago how the internet was before? We know Facebook, Twitter, Tiktok, Youtube. We knew blogger, Tumblr, Skyrock... and long before, it was the forum era as phpBB..and mail-lists.

And now with ActivityPub, we are reshaping the web, and achieving much with lots of freedom. So thank you all, and welcome ๐ŸคŸ๐Ÿ˜

Cool, I wish it wasn't just a starscape and search function though. A mockup of Earth with dots for servers and no borders would be cool

Edit: My b, Earth didn't load on my Firefox browser. Hard to support other platforms when you're complying with the complications of the monopoly's system. Still, a borderless planet would be great

Indeed, for other people, this is what you should see

This is a bit silly because a ton of these servers lie inside the same datacenters

Indeed, but there are also a few that are self hosted on bare metal or specific locations

Hmm, I thought the lemmy.ca guys said they moved to Vancouver colocation because it was more convenient and still affordable or am I misremembering things? Shows up in Montreal on that site.
