ONE wealthy straight white cis male gets shot. Where the fuck have you been the last 30 year, Greene.

Edit: (Okay, two.)

last i heard she LOST favor with the GOP as a whole, so shes flailing and biting back. i think boeboe might be the same thing.

[–] tigeruppercut@lemmy.zip 4 points 1 week ago

I think she's still pretty popular with her voters, even if the party is less than thrilled. Bobo is a different story

God I would love the blue states to pull away so we can watch the red states cannibalize each other.

They need us. We definitely don't need them.

The ones in the middle are so few and far between, it makes sense for a Fallout: New Vegas military expansion from the east, west, and south. Carve up the middle so each gets a slice of the bread basket.

Hoover Dam will be ours! - an NCR citizen

What's up with her saying things I agree with lately?

We need at least to be split into two countries if not more. There is no reconciliation possible at this point.

[–] jerkface@lemmy.ca 20 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (2 children)

Or how about 50-odd countries? Perhaps you could form some kind of union.

[–] abir_v@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

Well as long as we're saying the federal government has too much power, yes, it obviously does.

balkanization. blue states form a coalition with the other blue states, and red can ally with themselves, and ask russia for assistance. and the first step of legislation is expelling the GOP from the blue states.

[–] jerkface@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 week ago

As a non-American, speaking on behalf of quite a number of other non-Americans, we're fine with balkanization. Fuck with each other for a few decades, for a change.

Long live Cascadia!

[–] SanctimoniousApe@piefed.social 2 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

I'll need a new family, then. sigh

EDIT: Okay, I need one now, but it'll be official post-split.

[–] Kacarott@aussie.zone 2 points 1 week ago

It's a new country, not a new planet. Families can live across borders

[–] glimse@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yeah? What's the split you have in mind?

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Basically middle america and the south could be a country and then the eastern seaboard and the west coast could be their own countries as well.

[–] abir_v@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (2 children)

Please don't lump me in with the South, thanks

~ Coloradan

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Haha. I think Colorado would be a part of the western country.

[–] tyler@programming.dev 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I think when they said “middle America” they meant the straight line of states directly east of us, fellow Coloradan.

[–] abir_v@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

My hypothetical worry lies with Utah, then. How do they work in what I'm calling the Craft Beer Union?

[–] tyler@programming.dev 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

They’re like Lesotho, or the Vatican. lol

[–] abir_v@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Sounds fine to me.

Isn't almost every state basically a 50/50 split only slightly leaning one way or the other with the majority of each faction separated by urban and rural/suburban living? Hell, Texas has the second largest LGBT population in the country.

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

No, there are plenty of states that are very much blue or very much red.

[–] jerkface@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Gay people don't decide where to get born!! Gay population is almost a direct function of population, and Texas is the second most populous state, so of course they have the second most number of gay people.

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 18 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I'd love to see that and laugh my ass off

Red states aren't capable of feeding their own population without cash from the blue states. A split would immediately result in a world power and a theocratic third world country which would make African countries organize a "we are the world" to help and feed the hungry there.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Red states sole economy is usually only Tourism, and soybeans/alfalfa and maybe milk/chicken, and this heavily relies on Immigrant labor 100%, and its prone and susceptible to disruption.

That’s bonkers. But release the Epstein files.

[–] Zombiepirate@lemmy.world 11 points 1 week ago

She should start and GTFO.

[–] jwt@programming.dev 6 points 1 week ago

If the confederacy gets to keep the military industrial complex in the divorce (which I guess they will because it gives them a hard peepee) they'll be invading the union in no time, because they have no income to speak of.

[–] Bluefalcon@discuss.tchncs.de 6 points 1 week ago

Use the mississippi river, then go straight east to D.C. Anyone that identifies as Republican leaders are anti-American. Everyone else is American. Easy fix

[–] thegr8goldfish@startrek.website 3 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Dibs on the name USA. They can be Donlandia or the Kingdom of Magastan or Dumbass Island.

[–] corsicanguppy@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

WSA, ESA, NSA, SSA. No one gets USA.

Yes, NSA for the top half of the middle wasteland. Overload that TLA.

What? No respect for the Social Security Administration?
