However, Proton's policy is that if you use some accounts for illegal purposes, you will also lose access to the accounts where you have not yet conducted illegal activities.

Cue horror stories of Google locking person's entire account due to a credit card charge-back or minor Play Store ToS violation.

Proton should have stayed ProtonMail, not a Google-like "ecosystem".

Moreover, this confirms Proton does have enough PII to link people's identities across accounts, meaning they have information they can (and do, see: Spain) give to fascist governments.

well an email address is plenty for that, and it's easy to refer to when the reporters are reporting because of an email sent

Proton immediately froze my email after setting up with no way to get it approved and no explanation.

Turns out my IP is on some Brazilian Blacklist for some unknown reason. I do next to nothing from this ip, read the news and cruise social media.

The Brazilian company has done this to other people as well and they want money and more personal information to get off of it and they are capricious Pricks about it according to those that tried to play they're getting off the list part. Someone should sue them in US court.

One wonders how my IP got on there.

Wow! A statement from a fascism supporter! Third thing he does, he says "we are Proton and we know better, trust me bro" (just one more subscription, just the one, trust me bro).

Let's see how long does it take the board to back it up.

Funny how you can no longer sign up for an account without providing a phone number.

Really? I signed up for one recently without one.

No. I'd imagine that'd complicate things.
