"As revolutionaries, we don't have the right to say that we're tired of explaining. We must never stop explaining. We also know that when the people understand, they cannot but follow us. In any case, we, the people, have no enemies when it comes to peoples. Our only enemies are the imperialist regimes and organizations." Thomas Sankara, 1985

Regarding part 3: I got into it in the comment section on a dumb FB post yesterday and this was literally the person's rebuttal: Tyler's gilrfriend(see: roommate) was trans. I asked him politely if he understood that "trans shooter by proxy" isn't a thing. Then I politely explained that if we are going to play the statistics game, the shooter was a white cis, heterosexual, male, Christian conservative, which aligns more with the statistical commonality of shooters in this country.

I fear for the safety of my trans siblings more than anything out of Kirk getting smoked.

The really fucked thing is that Kirk himself isn't even relevant here. There was a high-profile crime and they want to attack trans people so they're talking about trans this, trans that. Kirk had just mentioned trans shooters so they thought, bam, there's our narrative, make the pieces fit, whatever you have to do.

But it could have been any big, "scary" crime with any victim, as long as they saw a good narrative opening. If it hadn't been this one, it would have been another.

We're absolutely getting to step 4 soon. Unironically.

I wouldn't say they're "trying to blame". This is part of an escalating and very effective effort to dehumanize an already marginalized group. The end result will be very bad.

What’s next? The shooter’s gun was trans?

[–] Saymaz@lemmygrad.ml 10 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I mean, they already called the bullet shell trans.

[–] lawllo@lemmygrad.ml 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Wait they did?! I didn't catch that. That's actually fucked up

Yeah, the bullet shell had the abbreviation of the manufacturer carved on it. TRN. They announced the bullet had Transgender ideology carved on it.

This is simply deranged. No notes.
