Wallpaper in paintings makes me happy. Can you reproduce a wallpaper pattern from someplace nostalgic and Christmassy for your mom, or connected to that ornament? Or the look of a particular tablecloth, drapes, distinctive woodwork, anything like that which might be in an old photo?

Rules
AI Art: While we appreciate AI generated art, there are more appropriate communities to post that type of art to. Please keep posts to non-AI generated art only. This rule includes AI art that was then manually manipulated (e.g. drawing on top of something generated by AI).
NSFW Policy: Nudity and suggestive content has always been a part of art, but it may be something that some users don't wish to see or cannot view in certain circumstances (e.g. at work). If your work contains nudity or suggestive content, please mark it as NSFW. Work that contains nudity or suggestive content that is not marked as NSFW will be taken down. As long as the NSFW tag is used, we welcome nude or suggestive subject matter. If you aren't sure if your work is NSFW or not, just ask yourself, "Could I look at this at a typical office job and not get into trouble?" If you're still not sure after that, you should probably mark it as NSFW just to be on the safe side.
Spam: Please do not spam this community. Self promotion is fine if you just want people to be aware of your work, but blatant attempts at spam will result in the past being removed and possibly a ban. If you aren't sure if what you are posting is spam, please contact the moderator first.
Conduct: Be nice, and don't be a jerk. Constructive criticism is OK, but don't be mean. Encouragement is always welcomed.
What I'd recommend is getting a scrap of paper, dividing into small squares, and quickly sketch out 4-8 possible ideas, keep it small and rough and you can quickly compare how the ideas will look and pick your favourite.
Could have snow and a moon, a big window if you want it still in a house, a snowman, a sky and santa in the sky, lots of christmassy ideas.
I like it. I would perhaps try adding a bit of depth, like opening up the wall of green in the background or adding a silhouette to the foreground (nothing too busy). Most importantly, don't listen to advice too much because only you know your own style.
Kids face in extreme fish eye closeup looking at it.
I think the painting could use more depth/color contrast! If you donβt like the tree, maybe a cute window with snow falling?
I agree. I'd add some brighter highlights on some edges of stuff and keep it instead of replacing it with something else.
Too much green can be a problem in a painting. I like the tree behind it, but maybe you could tone it down darker and cut the bright green. That would also make the top of the ornament pop more.
