The entire time I was reading Lord of the rings it felt like that, and then the feeling only got stronger when I started the silmarilion, bro really stole a whole history book from some alternate dimension and thought we wouldn't notice

This meme is entirely false. Tolkien stole from the Red Book of Westmarch, not the Hobbit!
