This study feels like meat industry propping up "plant also have feeling" rhetoric so that meat lovers can use it as some sort of gotcha against vegan activists.

Sorry but the title on this post is so clickbaity. We've known that plants release chemical signals when injured for ages. This is definitely not "whispering messages"

Don’t fret! I know many vegans who would rather starve to death instead, but certain they’d be happy for the company!

That sounds like a good idea, although starving seems a little inconvenient for me. But since being eaten is also inconvenient for the plants, I'll give it a try!
