Isn't that kind of the point though? If the supply chain crisis is worse, then the railroad companies can charge even more for cargo, and also pay workers much less since there's fewer competitors.

It's about maximizing profit, not prosperity.

That's what the railworkers said too when they tried to strike and were stopped by the federal government and mass media panic.
