id recokmend like firing them before burying them or they'll just become dirt again
You all are pretty sick for suggesting I should fire them then bury them. They have families.
last time i threw a dish i got grounded for a week
Yeah, that happens sometimes.
looks great, any ideas for the glazing?
Thank you! Yes, Iβm thinking of trying to match a mix called variegated blue. Something like this. My only concern is that the stoneware Iβm using fires to a pinkish white, so I want to make sure my glaze is opaque.
ah cool yeah i'm curious how/if it works out with ceramics it's always a bit tricky
Iβll post the results when theyβre done. I have to fill up the kiln first. Which is normally around March when I do ceramic projects with my students.
wow they're so pretty and smooth! one time i had the opportunity to throw for just a few hours, it really is a difficult skill to learn. have any ideas on how you're gonna paint or glaze them?
Throwing can be difficult to learn for sure. It helps to be knowledgeable of the medium and process. Working with ceramic demands an understanding of chemistry and material science. And wheel throwing adds physics into the process.
As for glazes, I only have access to simple bright color low-fire glazes in my classroom and the electric kiln in the picture. Iβm going to mix some glazes and make test tiles before I choose one I like. Iβm thinking of a freckled cerulean. I want to make sure itβs opaque though, since the bisque of this clay has an, in my opinion, an ugly pinkish white hue.
That's neat AF. You could crosspost this to diy
I really like the one on the left! the others are cool as well
I think the left one came out the best. I was going for a Florian Gadsby aesthetic. I think my favorite is the ramekin in the middle though. Thanks by the way :D
these look really good
They look so even!
Thanks! They arenβt lol but thanks!
those look really nice!
Thanks!
