To author its new report, the Department of Energy tapped climate contrarians, including several who have been on the payroll of the fossil fuel industry and whose discredited and debunked arguments have been promoted by right-wing media to manufacture doubt about the science that compels climate action. In fact, four of the five authors of the report — Judith Curry, John Cristy, Steven Koonin, and Roy Spencer — have appeared on Fox News during key moments to dismiss climate science and deny the link between our warming planet and extreme weather.

I'm not a rocket scientist or any kind of scientist for that matter, but I've lived in the same state for 40 years and I can tell you the climate from when I was a child to now is vastly different. I can also tell you it's not "the cycle of the planet" or "the next ice age is coming soon"

Your personal observations are actually backed by hard data - the last decade was literally the hottest on record and regional climate shifts are now measurble in a single human lifetime, which is unprecedentd in Earth's climate history.

Climate science really feels like the most direct example of the party telling you to disbelieve the evidence of your eyes and ears.

The Midwest used to be cold all winter. The pnw used to not need air conditioning.

Why are we giving energy to the glue drinkers of the world?
