Kodak made some of the first consumer digital cameras. It’s a shame they didn’t all-in on them.

Uh... I'm pretty sure the US Navy all but bought them out back in the 90s to preserve the Polaroid tech they relied on at the time? 🤔

Kodak didn't start to collapse until the early 00's. At that point they went through multiple mass layoffs at their various plants, as Fuji film encroached on their film business and digital are away at the whole industry.

So no, they're weren't bought out in the 90s

I also lived in the town they were headquartered for 25 years. You half remembering something that you've shown no source for doesn't contradict either of those.
