Ah yes. Race to see who can be the most corrupt. Then at the end when everything is at maximum corruption I'm sure it all gets better.
The Democrats have been operating off of "take the high gound" logic for a while and look where it got us.
When both sides do this political BS, both sides don't like it. This encourages bipartisan legislation to be put up to stop to anybody from doing it.
There is zero reason for the republicans to vote for any measures to stop gerrymandering because they are the only ones doing it.
The existence of the senate is already a ridiculous gerrymander. A state with less than 600,000 people (Wyoming) gets the same amount of representation as a state with almost 40,000,000 people (CA).
Can anyone with a brain make that seem fair in any way.
The same way every delegation in the UN gets a vote, even though the UN contains both China and the Vatican.
The states were intended to be states - fairly independent political entities which shared resources to maintain a military and facilitate trade.
Those states are not independent. They depend on the taxes from CA to subsidize them.
I'm just explaining the historical path we took.
The whole system of the hand-drawn maps is corrupt. Shall be just ditched altogether and the number of the overall votes shall count instead
Maybe this time when the dems reintroduce the legislation for 3rd party redistricting NOW maybe the reps will vote FOR it instead of against like last time. Since all the reps in blue states are now against the gerrymandering

What will stop the ruling party from gerrymandering that?
Why not just make a proportional representation without the need for maps? A vote for Kentucky should not be different than a vote from Washington, Texas or California.
