Is it just me or has there been a huge surge in content about football tactics in the last couple of years?

If so, do you think this is just because more people are posting about it now than they did before on social media and the actual topic was always big in relevant circles, or is it representative of a bigger mindset shift where everyone that likes football is trying to understand it on a slightly deeper level?

Don't discount gaming: football manager, fifa, PES etc. all have a focus on tactics (in particular the former). Also, managers themselves are becoming superstars (Mou, Klopp, Pep, Simeone etc.) in a way they didn't used to be, which also adds to the focus on tactics.

Yeah I was also thinking about video games influencing that too! Especially because I notice it all the more in Gen-Z and millenials. Even Fifa which is in theory more arcadey has quite a few tactical settings.

It's the commentating, in the last few years there's been an effort to educate the commoners on tactics. More people understand the game and will consume the tactical breakdowns.

This isn't something I've noticed as much but this part could also be dependent on the country. Definitely makes sense as an argument
