Official Title of this Community: Ethnic Minorities and People of Color
Why is the title different?
We like to have fun here.
What is this place? A safe space for underrepresented peoples and peoples of color to talk, chill, and vibe.
What are the basic rules of the community?

Follow Lemmy TOS and Community Guidelines. Non negotiable. This is the bedrock and mods will make decisions with this always in mind.

This community is for ethnic minorities and people of color. This is a safe space where such people can freely discuss their struggles, insight, and thoughts without fear. If you are not, we respectfully ask you do not post or comment here. A future community will be established to allow for racial discussions with a mixed userbase. However, remember, comments here must still respect Lemmy TOS and Community Guidelines.

Thinking like stupidpol ignores the struggles of the oppressed, their voices, and their need for unique support. Nothing says oppression more than someone saying that the identity you have is "not real" and that if you only thought like them you'd see what your "real" identity is. This place is for ethnic minorities and people of color. This includes those of mixed heritage and those who may be "white" but are of an ethnicity that is a minority in their area (i.e. Kurds, etc) If you've experienced oppression due to your identity that is not based on sexual / gender identification, you are welcome here.

Moreover, for our American audience, we have people from around the world who are "white" but are oppressed due to being a minority in their country. They are and should be welcomed here.

Just kinda gave myself a laugh imagining some dark comedy about that.
Wtf was up with the recent post that was removed? Someone equating Judaism and Zionism 
I think it was saying the global religion holds a lot of zionist bloodthirsty for a Holocaust on brown peopl in the middle east. I think we give a lot of leeway to Judaism, which was clearly co-opted by zionist ideology, I think in the 70s. The difference with other religions, is the Christian zionist gives the support and firepower and monetary gain. We can't have meaningful dialog about antisemitism when isntreal is commiting this genocide + terror in the middle east in the name of Judaism while the only oppression Jewish people are facing right now is getting arrested for protesting that rhetoric or having their religion conflated with zionism because of the same, which is just word and not power.

I just finished composing the last instrumental I need to compose for the album. I'll mix and share it later.
I calculated the length, and this album will be around 48 minutes long.
I have to write some lyrics and vocal arrangements now. I decided to save that for last.
I'm excited to have finally completed the instrumentals, though!
Been happy for my old training mates finding work but I'm feeling stuck right now, still waiting on news for my truck and if the warranty is gonna cover the transmission or not. I can't really commit to anything until I know I got reliable transportation and all the real jobs are 3 or 4 towns away from me. There is something that I might be down for, my old place of work is looking for someone with a particular set of skills. Seems to be data entry and while I don't know much of that I could probably fake enough and look stuff online for it.
Been thinking of a fanfic I wanted to do for RWBY for the longest time, I like the show with a big asterisk it's racial issues are complete garbage to the point I dropped it for a while when it was coming out. I like the setting, some of the characters, the action but I kept hoping it get better. I stopped watching in volume 7 and mostly been consuming fanworks since then. I do enjoy some of them very much and I found one that at least handles race stuff better but I rather try making something instead of just consuming. I've been told I got some decent writing skills so I think I'll get back into writing something.
Trying to explain shit about the first world to someone from here :broken_heart: it's like when you mention something bad they expect to say but and explain how we're doing it much worse or how it's actually okay there, like one time I was explaining to someone stuff about Nazi Germany and they were saying "but we're worse" after every few sentences.
Something I forgot about is that I'm also arranging a (dj0nt) cover of "Easy Lover" by Philip Bailey/Phil Collins for the album. That'll be easy though since the song is already written. I just need to construct it my own way
