Yet another Conservative moron talking about the woke bogeyman. Fuck this asshole and the hateful, intolerant horse he rode in on.

Edit: typo

Conservatives: Local government knows best, unless we don't agree!

[–] TheAgeOfSuperboredom@lemmy.ca 23 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

The amount of useless meddling these conservatives do just pisses me off. How much money is it going to cost for them to police paper straws? Fiscal responsibility my ass!

Just wait until you hear about the bike lane debacle.

[–] TheAgeOfSuperboredom@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 weeks ago

Yuuuuup! Especially silly when I work with someone who rides their bike in every day. They are a hardcore UCP and Trump supporter. They complain when the bike paths are not cleared in the winter.

No no, it's actually: Fiscal Responsibility™

Which is completly different from being fiscally responsible.

[–] Tiger666@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 weeks ago

Thoughts and prayers kind of vibe.

What's the best way to meaningfully push back on this type of divisive politics?

[–] cabron_offsets@lemmy.world 15 points 2 weeks ago

Kick their teeth in.

[–] Thedogdrinkscoffee@lemmy.ca 13 points 2 weeks ago

Eat them and gain their power.

Bulldozer.

In our current world? Money.

Support politicians and businesses that do not align with this. Boycott businesses that do.

Donate/volunteer with anti racism/pro-lgbtqia+ groups. Go to protests. Write your local politicians. Make sure those in power know you do not stand with that bullshit.

It might not feel like a "big" thing (if that's what you mean by meaningful) but if we were all willing to do it, it would make a difference.

Ignore them, they only do this because it gets them attention

[–] CileTheSane@lemmy.ca 5 points 2 weeks ago

The only people who ignore them are the people who would never support them anyway. It still gets them plenty of attention from their target demographic

[–] Auli@lemmy.ca 4 points 2 weeks ago

LOL what kind of advi emis this. That has worked out so well before hasn't it.

[–] leastaction@lemmy.ca 8 points 2 weeks ago

All these people know how to do is dog whistle.

[–] stepan@lemmy.ca 8 points 2 weeks ago

Ironic because Dummielle Smith supports gay marriage. Isn't that woke?

[–] MapleEngineer@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

Anyone who uses, "woke" unironically in this context is a fucking idiot. It's great that they so readily self-identify.
