The tiniest of silver linings is that there's a good chance of getting rid of the NFA once and for all. However, I would gladly push that date back if it meant the big shit bill hadn't passed.

So if I want a surpressor, where do I stand as of today? Still have to apply, just pay nothing? I honestly don't understand this.

Also, I thought the Parliamentarian struck this provision in it's entirety?

Maybe in a decade we can get rid of the Hughes amendment

The removal of the $200 tax for suppressors, SBRs is a very welcome change for the firearms community. Hoping to see the lawsuit here completely kill this portion of the NFA.

Putting hearing safety equipment behind such large barriers has always been asinine.

The removal of the tax was pointless. I don't run suppressors because of a tax, I don't run them because the amount of paperwork and laws I could accidentally break is insane. It's a convoluted mess of bullshit.

Yeah the tax isn't my problem, It's the waiting. With the dropping to $0 I'm sure there's gonna be a huge spike in people filing right now and you know the ATF wont be able to keep up.

Yep, the issue with it all isn't the money... it's the bullshit that comes with the damn stamp.

So all the paperwork and registry is confirm that you paid the tas. The lawsuit basically says there's no point in any of that since the tax is gone.

Guessing time will tell if this actually goes through. I find it insane that countries with massive amounts of gun control literally require suppressors to be used and they're like cheap accessories you can buy as basically an afterthought in the gun stores. Why we have braindead politicians thinking suppressors magically make the firearm noiseless is crazy to me.
