This might be a stupid question, but do dogs have problems walking on escalators?

I was confused on why everyone was carrying their dog and I think their paws or fur getting stuck might be the only answer that makes sense to me.

The dogs are scared, and the escalator is legitimately dangerous to furry animals with long toenails, so in this case everyone wins. The safest option is also the cutest.

Yes they can get their toes trapped when getting off the escalator.

Also I think a lot are just scared of it moving. I've also had dogs scared of walking on like grates, or stairs with open backs. Maybe it's a depth perception thing. Maybe they just can't comprehend it? I've had a couple pretty dumb dogs though. Still 25/10 puppers.

There are so many directions the internet could take with a comment like this. Fortunately it's lemmy and everyone is kinda slow.

Why would you want to meet in a mall with your dogs? Is this just the most American thing that I don't understand or what?

[–] teft@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago (2 children)

In colombia everyone brings their dogs to the mall with them. Do they not where you live?

America is just used to banning things instead of holding the public accountable.

IE: it's much easier to ban dogs from a store or gathering place than kick someone out for not having a trained dog that knows to shit outside, or god forbid, expect someone to clean up properly if their dog has an accident, and then you get angry Karens and Chuds screaming at you while holding their phones up recording the whole thing, which then goes viral and the company's brand-name suddenly becomes associated with hating dogs or something.

Dogs are not allowed most places in Denmark. It's only some hardware stores, pet stores that allow dogs and a few cafes if you are lucky. Most caffes you can sit outside tho which is of course allowed, but then the weather decides the experience.

Oh man. You guys are missing out. Petting random dogs while waiting for the queue to decrease is the best.

No question, but I think they are confused, since there are lot of places that would be a better choice for that.
