What is Cyberpunk?
Cyberpunk is a science-fiction sub-genre dealing with the integration of society and technology in dystopian settings. Often referred to as “low-life and high tech,” Cyberpunk stories deal with outsiders (punks) who fight against the oppressors in society (usually mega corporations that control everything) via technological means (cyber). If the punks aren’t actively fighting against a megacorp, they’re still dealing with living in a world completely dependent on high technology.
Cyberpunk characteristics include:
- Dystopian city setting where mega-corporations rule
- Full integration of technology into society, featuring cybernetic implants
- Outsider protagonists (punks) who often are very familiar with the technology around them
- Hard boiled detective and film noir vibes and influence
- Themes dabbling in trans-humanism, existentialism, and what it means to be human.

Slightly? It will ruin everything if it isn't exactly as I imagined it the first time I read it.
I'm not sure if I'm joking or not.
The sky tuned to a dead channel would be lost on Zoomers and most people, though.

It's on Apple TV. This means I'll unfortunately never see it.
When I last quit apple TV as a person possessing no apple hardware, it was an excruciating, maddening process that took three attempts over two days to finalize. I didn't learn anything about apple I don't already know, but I did have some choice words for that one fuckwit family member who says "lol, just go buy apple stuff" without understanding his role in this.
So, for those reasons I choose not to go back to apple TV, ever. I can't mentally afford the rage and anger that surrounds the termination process. And it's my choice not to view it on pirate streams or whatnot, should it become available. I have no judgement over those who pay top dollar just to pay top dollar to view apple TV streams, and I have no negative thoughts towards those who find it on the open seas. Neither option is for me .
It could be fantastic, though, and I hope it is.
What's wrong with pirating it? Are you incapable of that?
Neuromancer was the best of the three.
Yes, the two after (In the Sprawl Trilogy) felt disconnected from the original, but its been a minute since I've read all three.

Of course one of the richest corporations on the planet is making this show. Especially apt is that it's a tech company with a biomedical branch. I'm sure all of the show's themes will be true to the book.
