I had success with one old model of Xiaomi band and not with another. There are all kinds of hacks and workarounds with modified versions of the Mi Fitness app to get it working on some models and it may or may not work for you.
Start here and hopefully you can get it working.

Sorry to hear. It is a bit of an issue trying to work with these proprietary, closed systems. Sometimes it works and other times it just doesn't.
