We're thrilled to announce that CoMaps Android release 2025.06.10 is now live on the F-Droid app catalogue!

This is a big step forward in our mission to provide a privacy-respecting, community-powered navigation app to everyone.

Why F-Droid?

  • Free and Open Source: F-Droid ensures that the apps listed contain no closed / proprietary parts. All apps are built by F-Droid itself and are guaranteed to correspond to source code made available by apps' developers.

  • Community: F-Droid is a volunteer-driven project, aligning perfectly with our values and the support of the amazing people who use CoMaps.

Get CoMaps on F-Droid

  1. Install F-Droid: Download F-Droid from f-droid.org
  2. Install CoMaps: Search "CoMaps" in F-Droid, install

We're excited to bring CoMaps to the F-Droid community. Thank you for being a part of this journey with us! ❤️

Its already better than Organic Maps. The latest update has this save built routes as tracks which is so good for doing long bike tours :)

Is CoMaps going to merge commits from OM in the future? Or is the development completely parallel?

[–] eatham@aussie.zone 5 points 7 months ago

It does merge commits from OM at the moment.

It's because it has antifeatures you have filtered out. I believe it was "tethered network services" that made comaps appear in search results

I still don't see it...
I can see it on the website, copy the link and when I open it on the phone it says app not found.

I have a problem with map downloads. On the 1st install, out of 6,1 failed, and on the last update, another map failed to download. It just gets stuck and goes really slow and won't complete, then finally fails after a while. I have to come back after some time to complete downloading.

Is there some kind of request limit 5hat throttles downloads?

Also could it please support Open tracks to view its maps. Sharing maps from Open tracks share menu is imported as bookmarks, which isn't optimal.

There should not be a download limit, but depending on where you are in the world, the mirror servers may behave differently. Regarding downloads, you can reach out on Telegram at t.me/CoMaps_EN or to support@comaps.app
