My report is too many pages but I found my grade - barely passing. My brother is bravely discussing a transfer to a new school because his grade dipped below the threshold.
On my way to the next place, I hitched a ride on the back of a car that was going out into the harbor. Quickly dodged to one side so I wouldn't block the driver's view as he backs up. Jumped off and sank under the waves as they began accelerating.
I wander back into class after a long time away. Comfortable. Couches. A classmate has grown up since the last time I was there. She's happy to see me but confused, "I thought you dropped out"
