Showerthoughts

A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The most popular seem to be lighthearted clever little truths, hidden in daily life.

Here are some examples to inspire your own showerthoughts:

Rules

  1. All posts must be showerthoughts
  2. The entire showerthought must be in the title
  3. No politics
    • If your topic is in a grey area, please phrase it to emphasize the fascinating aspects, not the dramatic aspects. You can do this by avoiding overly politicized terms such as "capitalism" and "communism". If you must make comparisons, you can say something is different without saying something is better/worse.
    • A good place for politics is c/politicaldiscussion
  4. Posts must be original/unique
  5. Adhere to Lemmy's Code of Conduct and the TOS

If you made it this far, showerthoughts is accepting new mods. This community is generally tame so its not a lot of work, but having a few more mods would help reports get addressed a little sooner.

Whats it like to be a mod? Reports just show up as messages in your Lemmy inbox, and if a different mod has already addressed the report, the message goes away and you never worry about it.

This is sort of the way

spoilerThe Wrath of Becky ends. After exacting her revenge for the second time, she gets approached by a CIA person who basically offers her a job as a field agent/professional killer and she ends up getting support ro take out one final bad guy with a flipping tank. It's a satisfying ending for the movie and for Becky.

If you haven't seen those movies, they're worth checking out. They're like 2 hours of revenge/justice porn, very violent and gory but entertaining.

Did you describe Saddam Hussein?

Although his father died before he was born, his mother tried to abort him and kill herself but failed, she didn't want him and he was raised by his uncle.

That's kinda like Absolute Batman. Alfred is an MI6 agent investigating Batman and the other gangs, and after a while they start working together because Alfred believes in the Mission.

Batman actually blasts Alfred at point-blank with a "non-lethal" shotgun in their very first meeting. I say "non-lethal" because the shotgun shoots mini batarang-shaped shrapnel. And Alfred just has a bunch of tiny batarangs sticking out of his face after the shot.

Goddamn I need to read the Absolute DC comics.

I think I have seen something like this. Can't recall the name, but it was more like taken, with some agency funding some rando to collect their family.

Edit: I think this is the one: https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/1000734-amateur

Edit2: Remade with Rami Malek: https://youtu.be/DCWcK4c-F8Q

I just saw this movie.

Tap for spoilerHe blackmails his superiors to get training… he isn’t offered to get revenge on his wife’s killers. They laugh at him…

I think thats in the trailer, so no spoiler. Its not exactly OPs premise, but its close, its still a normie being helped by a larger organisation. Did you like it?

I dunno, he gets treated like a ‘normie’ but continually surprised people who underestimate him.

It wasn’t the best movie but not the worse. It has some fun moments. Made me want to watch Mr. Robot (only seen pieces).

I figure this is the origin story for a lot of terrorists.

Until their sudden but inevitable betrayal
