Haruhi AND binary reverse engineering? It's the perfect video!
Honestly, this is probably the best primer for binary reverse engineering I've seen. They tend to either handwave too much to be useful or else be one step away from a raw stream of someone working (which tbf can be useful sometimes but is not a great place to start). Also, the engaging presentation and level of polish is leagues ahead of what you typically see for this kind of video.
I've done a bit of work in this space myself, but nothing nearly as extensive, and I picked up a few tips that I'm sure will be helpful going forward! Plus, I just love hearing people talk about the projects they're passionate about, and it inspires me to keep chipping away at my own projects. Definitely going to check out their other video and their dev blog for more juicy technical details.
Writing isn't my strength, but I'd love to see some enterprising Hexbear makes a cute scenario with the scripting tool
